Cookie Policy
Last updated 20 September 2026 · Covers https://ekguru.shop/ and public pages on it.
In the current release, EkGuru does not intentionally set first-party HTTP cookies. It uses browser local storage for preferences and learning progress. Advertising is disabled, and optional analytics is not requested unless you allow it in Privacy settings.
Cookies and local storage
A cookie is sent with later requests to the domain that set it. Local storage stays in the browser until site data is cleared or code removes it; it is not attached to network requests automatically. Both can still hold information, so this policy describes the local-storage use rather than calling the site “storage-free.”
What EkGuru stores on your device
| Purpose | Examples | When written |
|---|---|---|
| Privacy choices | Consent version, date, functional and analytics choices | When you choose Accept, Reject or Save preferences |
| Display preferences | Language, country/currency, voice and analytics opt-out | When you use the related setting |
| Learning activity | Progress, mastery, practice rounds, quiz/typing attempts and saved cards | When you use an interactive learning feature |
| Convenience and reliability | Recent searches, recovery/rate-limit state and dismissed notices | When the related feature needs it |
These records do not create an EkGuru account and are not synced by EkGuru between devices. Clear this site’s data in your browser to remove them. Some browser features, including the service worker, also use the browser cache for offline/repeat loading.
Analytics
Analytics is optional and denied by default. If you allow it, EkGuru loads GoatCounter to count page views without an advertising identifier or analytics cookie. If you reject or do nothing, the analytics script is not requested. Withdrawing analytics prevents future EkGuru analytics events; it cannot recall a page view already sent.
Advertising
Google AdSense is disabled in this release. Public pages contain no AdSense loader or ad unit. The local Privacy settings notice is not a Google-certified CMP/TCF deployment, so its Advertising option is disabled and cannot enable ads.
External services
- Razorpay: the Support page contains a normal link to Razorpay’s hosted payment page. Razorpay may use cookies or other storage after you choose to leave EkGuru; its policy applies there.
- YouTube: some tutor profiles may use the privacy-enhanced youtube-nocookie.com player. YouTube can make network requests and may use browser storage when the player is loaded or played.
- Contact and booking forms: information is transmitted to the configured email relay only when you submit. This is form data, not a tracking cookie.
Change or withdraw your choices
Use the Privacy settings button at the lower-left of any page to reopen the controls. Reject optional storage/analytics there, or clear EkGuru site data in browser settings. Advertising remains unavailable regardless of the displayed choice.
Changes
If advertising, affiliate tracking or another storage-using provider is enabled later, this policy and the consent implementation must be updated and tested before launch. See the Privacy Policy and Monetization Disclosure.
