Plain terms for a small site. By using EkGuru you accept these. If you do not, please do not use it — no hard feelings.

What EkGuru is

EkGuru introduces students to independent Hindi tutors and publishes free learning material. We are an introduction service, not the teacher. The lesson itself is an arrangement between you and the tutor. We are not a party to it, we do not supervise it, and we do not take payment for it.

Booking requests

• Pressing "send booking request" sends a request. It is not a confirmed lesson until the tutor replies and agrees a time with you.
• Tutors set their own prices and their own availability, and may decline.
• No payment is taken on this website. There is no checkout here, and anyone asking you to pay EkGuru through this site is not us.

Prices and currency

Prices are set by each tutor in US dollars. Where a price is shown in your own currency it has been converted using a public exchange rate for your convenience, and it is an estimate. The dollar figure is the real one. Rates move; your bank's rate will differ.

The free material

The guides, tools, question pages and daily lessons are free to read and use. You may link to them and quote a reasonable extract with attribution. You may not republish them wholesale, or feed them into a scraper to rebuild them elsewhere. They were written by hand.

Accuracy

Hindi is written here by people, and Devanagari typed by hand goes wrong in small ways. We correct what is reported. Please do report it — the contact form takes a moment. See also the disclaimer.

Acceptable use

• Do not use the contact or booking forms to send bulk or commercial mail.
• Do not attempt to harvest tutor or student contact details.
• Do not misrepresent who you are when contacting a tutor.

Advertising

This site may display third-party advertising. Adverts are selected by the ad network, not by us. An advert appearing here is not a recommendation, and we have no relationship with the advertiser. See the privacy policy for how advertising cookies work and how to opt out.

Availability

This is a small site run by one person and hosted for free. It may be unavailable at times, and pages may change or be removed. Nothing here is guaranteed to stay online.

Liability

The material here is provided as it is. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for loss arising from using this site or from a lesson arranged through it. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of India, and the courts of Rajasthan have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer elsewhere, this does not take away rights you have under your own country's law.
