Reading the script is the single biggest unlock in Hindi — everything you look at stops being decoration. This is a one-week plan, not a promise: a week gets you sounding words out, not reading novels.

It is phonetic — one letter, one sound, every time. English spelling is historical and irregular; Devanagari spelling follows speech.
It removes a consonant's implied 'a' and joins it to the next letter, as in स्कूल (skūl).
A chart helps only once you use it. Drill these same points in the practice labs, follow a learning path to keep the order right, or practise one to one with a native-speaking tutor.
