Mistakes every learner makes in Gujarati
Verb-first sentences, હું જોઈએ, નહીં vs ના — fix them all.

Mistake one: English word order. હું જા (I go — bare stem, wrong) instead of હું જાઉં છું (I go — conjugated, right); verbs wandering mid-sentence instead of anchoring the end. Gujarati is verb-final, always — SOV is not a suggestion, it is the law.
Mistake two: હું જોઈએ (I want — wrong) instead of મને જોઈએ છે (to-me wanted — right). Gujarati wanting flows toward the wanter; English wanting fires from the wanter. Flip the arrow and dozens of sentences — મને સમજાયું, મને ખબર છે — unlock at once.
Mistake three: one-size no. નહીં denies verbs — પૈસા નથી (there's no money); ના refuses offers — ચા ના (no tea for me). Beginners spray ના everywhere; natives smile and correct. Learn both no's, use each precisely.
Mistake four: rushing sounds — flat long vowels, skipped ળ, wrong gender endings. ધીમે (slowly), બરાબર (correctly), ફરી (again): the holy trinity of repair. પ્રયત્ન (effort) plus મહાવરો (practice) plus ધીરજ (patience) — and અભિનંદન, mistakes become fluency.

Questions learners ask
English order with Gujarati words: હું જા instead of હું જાઉં છું, verb first, question words misplaced. Cure: every sentence ends with the verb — practise SOV until English order feels foreign.
Wanting flows toward people: મને જોઈએ છે (to-me it-is-wanted), never હું જોઈએ. One of Gujarati's deepest patterns — experiences come TO you — and beginners fight it for weeks.
નહીં denies verbs — હું નથી જતો (I'm not going); ના answers no — ના, આભાર (no, thanks). Two no's, two jobs, zero overlap.
