Albanian forms its own branch of the Indo-European family, like Armenian and Greek, and shares a distant ancestor with Hindi. The practical consequences are real: Albanian has a case system, grammatical gender, and a definite article attached to the end of the noun, so the three things that make Hindi nouns hard for English speakers are all things you already do. Albanian also has a rich consonant inventory that makes Hindi's aspirated series approachable.
