Indians form one of Kuwait's largest expatriate communities, and Hindi circulates as a practical working language across construction, healthcare, retail and domestic work. Learners here are generally very clear about what they need, which makes for unusually focused lessons: instructions understood correctly the first time, names and numbers heard right, and enough social language to be a decent colleague rather than a distant one. Because Urdu is equally present, an Arabic-literate learner can build spoken ability quickly and decide separately whether to take on the Devanagari script at all. Kuwait sits two and a half hours behind India, so almost any hour a tutor teaches is a workable evening here.

Two honest caveats. That figure uses standard time and ignores daylight saving, which moves it by an hour for part of the year in many countries; and some countries span several zones. Devanagari is easy to get slightly wrong when it is typed by hand — a missing matra, the wrong nukta. If something here looks off to you, trust a native speaker over this page and please tell us so it gets fixed — it takes a moment and a real person reads it. Romanised spellings are a guide to the sound, not a standard: there is no single official way to write Hindi in Latin letters.
