Moldova's language is a variety of Romanian, which happens to be the Romance language that kept the most of its case system — and that is exactly the instinct Hindi's postpositions need. Where a Spanish or French speaker has to be taught what को is doing, a Moldovan speaker recognises it. Moldova also hosts Indian medical students, so Hindi has a real presence in Chișinău. Romanian's clean five-vowel core and tapped r transfer straight into Hindi pronunciation, which means you sound less foreign, sooner, than most European learners. Many Moldovans also read Russian in Cyrillic, which makes Devanagari a second alphabet rather than a first shock.

Devanagari is easy to get slightly wrong when it is typed by hand — a missing matra, the wrong nukta.
