The week runs Sunday-first: ஞாயிறு (Sunday), திங்கள் (Monday), செவ்வாய் (Tuesday), புதன் (Wednesday), வியாழன் (Thursday), வெள்ளி (Friday), சனி (Saturday). Planet-named like most of Asia — செவ்வாய் (Mars), புதன் (Mercury), வியாழன் (Jupiter), வெள்ளி (Venus), சனி (Saturn) — the sky keeps Tamil's calendar.
Day-parts steer greetings and meals: காலை (morning — காலை வணக்கம்), மதியம் (afternoon — lunch/saappaadu o'clock), மாலை (evening — மாலை வணக்கம், filter kaapi round two), இரவு (night — இரவு வணக்கம்? rare; goodnight is usually just வணக்கம் with a smile).
Bigger units plan life: வாரம் (week), மாதம் (month), வருடம் (year) — அடுத்த வாரம் (next week), சென்ற மாதம் (last month), இந்த வருடம் (this year). Tamil plans in weeks for errands, months for visits, years for weddings.
Dates assemble simply: தேதி (thedhi — date), முதல் தேதி (first), இன்று என்ன தேதி? (what's today's date?). Numbers from the numbers page slot straight in — பதினைந்தாம் தேதி (the 15th). Time, dates, plans: one page, total coverage.

Questions learners ask
Start the week Sunday like Tamil calendars: ஞாயிறு, திங்கள், செவ்வாய், புதன், வியாழன், வெள்ளி, சனி. Chant them in order — rhythm makes them permanent.
காலை (morning), மதியம் (afternoon), மாலை (evening), இரவு (night). Greetings, meals and plans all key off these four — மாலை வணக்கம் (good evening) after four-ish.
வாரம் (vaaram — week), மாதம் (maadham — month), வருடம் (varudam — year). அடுத்த வாரம் (next week), இந்த மாதம் (this month) — plans assemble instantly.
